Before the Trip Checklist

Recently when we left to go out of town, we left the back door unlocked.  Oops!  It’s hard to remember everything when we’re getting ready for a trip and walking out the door.  We really need a checklist.

– BEFORE THE TRIP –

2 Days Before Leaving:

• Clean house
• Laundry
• Check if any bills need to be paid
• Return library books or rented movies
• Charge camera batteries

1 Day Before Leaving:

• Pack
• Charge cell phone
• Get gas for car or confirm plane tickets
• Find a book for the trip
• Get snacks for the trip

Day of Trip:

• Water plants
• Pick up around the house
• Toss perishable food from fridge
• Take out trash
• Wash dishes
• Take care of cat

Walking Out the Door:

• Set thermostat
• Check locks on doors and windows
• Unplug computer and tv
• Make sure oven is off
• Find cat (not in closet)
