Good Reads: The Quick Recovery Edition
November 22, 2008 in This & That
Earlier this week I started feeling those first few signs I was getting sick. It wasn’t sneezing or sniffles, it was headaches and the kind of aching fever that makes me worry, “oh no, could this be flu?”
Fortunately I had your good advice from last week, and I read through all of your comments again. I tried as many of them as possible that day, and you know what? It really worked! The next day I woke up and felt amazing! It was incredible to be well so quickly. Thank you.
If you’re looking for something to read this weekend:
Keep Our Lives Simple
- Sent — from Salt and Chocolate (Have you ever wanted to ask your relatives to give fewer gifts to your children?)
Nurture Our Loved Ones
- Folder Games — from The Beautiful Thrifty Life (I think homeschooling moms especially will love this idea for entertaining and teaching young kids.)
Learn Practical Skills
- A Year of CrockPotting (My crock pot broke during a homemade yogurt experiment a few months ago, and I still need to replace it.)
Make Smart Money Decisions
- I’m a recovering unconscious consumer — from Just Five More Minutes
Enjoy Peace
- Frugal ways to give back this holiday season — from Living Well on Less
I hope you enjoy your weekend!

Good stuff Rachel! I love the crock pot idea – we NEED to do this more!
And, I love the picture – what a gorgeous autumn day!

I’ve been enjoying Small Notebook for a while now, and especially appreciate your “Good Reads.” I love the tips here — the folder games are terrific, and I’ve had a goal of using our crock pot more for a while. This has given me some more inspiration. Thanks for including my post in this round-up, too.
Glad that you’re feeling better!
Hi Rachel! Thanks so much for plugging my folder games post on your blog- I think I gained a few new readers and I also was blessed to discover your blog! What a wonderful site you have! I have added you to my daily reading list. Thanks again, and keep up the great work!

I’m glad you managed to beat off the bug
Love the folder games! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
I was feeling that same bug coming on – reviewed your readers tips and think I nipped it in the bud. Thanks for re-posting those yesterday.
