Thank you so much for your wonderful ideas. As my Google Reader fills with more and more "good ideas" for Christmas, it is your posts that have inspired me and helped me feel connected to other simple families. After reading this post, I finally created a digital daybook on Typepad (private) so that I can capture not only holiday memories but also every day. Thanks for the inspiration. I love this idea. I use to do one that I could refer to (i.e. what the kids liked getting for Christmas, what worked, what didn’t), but I love the idea of having a Christmas book that anyone could look through…Since we can never remember who puts the angel on top of the tree from year to year…(the same child has done it 3 years in a row..) I think this is a great way to keep track!

I love this idea, Rachel. I often get caught up in wanting to make things elaborate and perfect, whereas your idea captures the season without requiring 100 hours of labor.
