2009 is already looking like a success. I’ve spent years burning toast, and it usually comes out of the oven with little flames dancing on top. This week I made toast by myself, and didn’t burn it! Apparently the trick is to stand there and watch it. Who knew?

  2. proud of… lots of things.

like cooking a healthy supper every night, spending time with my children everyday, spending time with a friend one afternoon, starting work on de-cluttering the closets, simplifying the christmas decorations from 2 1/2 bins down to 1.

I also wrote a post this week on my blog how our family of 5 hangs all our laundry all year round, we don’t own a dryer. Your readers might find it inspiring.

Laundry isn’t the chore it once was and I find hanging laundry actually simplifies our lives and enhances it in a way using a clothes dryer doesn’t.

  3. speaking of kids on computers…
I love “reader rabbit” software for toddlers – you can hit any key or simply move the mouse. There are songs and coloring.. both my kids loved it. So worth the same amt of $

Thanks for the links.. I’ll check them out!

  4. Thanks for the Crazy Little Fingers link. I love the idea of letting Bubba “play” at the computer while knowing that he won’t destroy the important stuff on it.

I am proud that I got the christmas decorations down finally. Also I started (and hope to finish today) a rag quilt for my nephew.

  5. Thanks for the Crazy Fingers link! My son renamed a lot of my files on the desktop (of my lovey Mac) interesting names like “asdpoiugpoiut.” Yeah, that was interesting to figure out! :)

  6. (I can never figure out why the commentluv thing always shows a post from last month? I’m not getting something. Oh well! :) )

  7. Kelli, I have no idea about the commentluv either. Sometimes it seems like it’s working, sometimes it doesn’t.

Liz, I finally took my Christmas decorations down, too!

  8. I am proud of myself for keeping up with my blog, and not only that, but finding that it is something that I absolutely LOVE doing! I have dreamed of being a writer since I could read, and this week I received the honor of writing a guest post for one of my blogging idols. I also really enjoy the whole blogging network- the people you “meet” and the virtual friendships you can have.

Rachel, thanks for also being a great inspiration and sharing one of my posts with your readers. I feel like people are actually hearing what I have to say. Oh, and good job on the toast. ;-)

My small victory this week was actually listening to my body (and my doctor) and letting myself rest and not stress about the work I was missing. Now I’m back at work and actually almost 100% recovered!

  14. My victory was making it to the gym, despite all the interruptions.

And, ps, I just found this site and just adore it.

  16. I’m very glad I haven’t totally biffed my goal yet of reading through the Bible this year. 13 days into 2009, and I’m still current!
(I’m reminded of Paul saying, Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord. I’m sure God’s goodness to me has something to do with this achievement.) :c)

  17. on sunday, i made my best oatmeal chocolate chip cookies ever. and i finally discovered an amazing bread recipe. for ages i’ve tried to find a recipe that doesn’t give our bread-machine-made bread a rockhard crust and i finally found it. not only that, i made three loaves of it in the past couple days in the oven and it’s even better that way. so i’m feeling very domestic and proud of myself.

also, i was in bed with the light off at 10pm last night. that is a hard accomplishment since i’m such a night owl, but i need to get more sleep, so 10 is the target now instead of 12.

  18. Hmmm. I’ll use the word “happy”.

I’m happy that I decluttered my computer area and made places for filing/storage.

I’m happy that I planned ahead for shopping next week and that I know we’ll be eating at home every night.

I’m happy that I started a debt snowball payment plan!!

  19. I tried to get up everyday happy and to get up and ready for work.Because I have to be at work at 7am I usualy stagger out of bed mumbling, “do I really have to get up?!!I hate working!!”
My husband and I are exspecting our first Child in May and since my car is a two door, and we aren’t able to get a carseat into it we have decided to start saving for our new car.We will be trying to put away all of what I make into our savings and just live on what my husband makes. That means I have to work,I might as well be happy about it!!
