Tie a Pretty Gift Ribbon

December 11, 2009 in Handmade

Confession time: I have just barely started Christmas shopping. But no matter, there is still time.

I do know how I’ll be wrapping those gifts once I bring them home. Last year I made a little video tutorial about how to tie a gift ribbon into a pretty bow without any knots so that it’s easy to take it off. It’s a simple way to dress up your present.

In case you missed it the first time around, I’m sharing it again. It’s less than two minutes.  Stay for the outtake at the end — I had completely forgotten about it!

(Click through to watch it at Small Notebook if you don’t see it in your email or RSS reader.)

Wow that was great, so much easier to follow than a step-by-step instruction page that I would need to read and re-read to understand! I especially love the outtake!

I wonder if it is funny to think back to a year ago, and where you are now with your new addition to your family. =) Hope you are taking it easy and enjoying the holiday season!

I have always struggled with my bows. So, thank you, thank you! Most of my gifts this year will be contained in hand-sewn cloth bags but I can’t wait to try your handy dandy bow making on my wrapped gifts!

  1. [...] http://smallnotebook.org/2009/12/11/tie-a-pretty-gift-ribbon/ – I find video demonstrations so much easier to follow than reading instructions. This post includes a wonderful video that shows you how to tie a ribbon that you can undo easily (rather than resorting to the scissors everytime) [...]
