Happy Easter weekend!
Looking at your pictures, I got curious about what it’s like to be traveling for such an extended period of time. Does it feel like a loooong vacation? Or more that you are living overseas, just generally doing your life the same way as at home?
The total upside to me would be that there are no little projects around the house to worry about while the kids are sleeping. No weeds to pull (I hate gardening) or rocking chairs to paint (next on my to-do list), etc etc. But maybe I would miss those things as well, if I were away for a while.
My question is a bit jumbled- sorry. But would love to hear any thoughts you have about that.

Both really. When we were in Florence it felt like daily life. Here in Venice it’s more like our vacation, and it is nice to have a break from organizing projects at home.
Love the pictures! So colorful! Will you guys be visiting anywhere else in Italy before coming back to the states?

Probably not for this trip. With the little kids it’s easier to stay in the same place and live in it.
Mmmmmm gelato!

Now that baseball season is here, family dinners are difficult to protect. I love the idea of family breakfasts! Also love the pictures of Italy. It’s making my travel bug itch.
Beautiful photos! I’m going to Italy this summer & always enjoy your posts and photos about your time there.
My little bit of Italian is rusty but if that’s strawberry and ruby grapefruit gelato in that photo… well, that just sounds like Summer in a cup. Thanks for the reading list, it looks good too!
What beautiful photos! Love those pinky hues – the walls and the ice cream.

Thanks! I think I am going to organize my pictures of Venice by color. All the pinks together, and then the yellows…
What a fun idea! I’d love to see that when you’re done. Maybe you could take pictures of your pictures?

Mmmmm, what with all your photographic and writing ability, are you planning, so that this experience, could be a book? Like copy writing everything or whatever one has to do?
Hope so!
Gentle hugs,

No, I don’t really have a plan for that, but thank you!
That gelato looks really good! And those photos are lovely. Even the laundry is looking quaint.
Easter Greetings to you all from afar, but not really — just a “Submit” button away — that’s all.
Italy has the best ice cream sorbet gelato in the world! Over 20 years ago our famiy enjoyed it so much and we still remember the wonderful taste!

I want to share with you how much I look forward to reading your blog. Home schooling a 14 and 12 year old, chasing an autistic 5 year old and raising a 20 month old keeps me busy. But I always make time for smallnotebook because the content is so worth it to me. Thank you!
